Phoenix area golf course covered in layer of graupel, hail

After a few days of rain, the temperatures really dropped in the Phoenix area on Monday and it got cold enough for some graupel and hail to fall in the suburb of Paradise Valley on Monday.

Not quite snow, but close enough as the Camelback Golf Club got a nice coating of the white stuff.

Nearly 60,000 homes experienced power outages in the Phoenix area on Monday afternoon due to the storms.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for the Phoenix area including Paradise Valley and Scottsdale areas, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.

Wind of up to 60 mph and hail as large as a penny was possible in the area, according to the weather service.

A Cactus Tour mini tour event was disrupted by serious gusts on Monday as well.
