Phoebe Dawson announced as chief executive of Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership

Phoebe Dawson has been announced as the next chief executive of the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP).

Ms Dawson is currently director of business engagement and partnerships at Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (WLEP) and will start in her new position in May.

She has been a director at WLEP since 2019 and is also a non-executive director on the Worcestershire Cricket Board.

Her work at the Worcestershire LEP includes sharing responsibility for operational delivery, the local growth hub team, inward investment. She also works closely with local authorities, the business community and partners including the Midlands Engine and the Department for International Trade.

Prior to work at the WLEP, she spent two years as chief executive of the Worcester Business Improvement District (BID), and led a ballot which secured more than £2 million investment for the city. She also worked with the city council to develop a new brand for the city, Visit Worcester.

Prior to that she spent two years as manager of the Worcestershire growth hub, Worcestershire Business Central, leading delivery of BEIS, ERDF and locally funded contracts.

She has also worked in economic and skills development roles at Oxfordshire County Council and Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining the high-performing executive team at LLEP.

“I look forward to working with the Board, our partners, and our stakeholders, to build on the strong reputation of the LLEP, and bring further growth and prosperity to this exciting and innovative region.”

LLEP co-chair Anil Majithia said: “Both myself and the board are really looking forward to having Phoebe join us as CEO and she will provide excellent leadership at a critical stage.”
