Phillip Schofield was 'openly dismissive' of Eamonn Holmes on set at This Morning

Phillip Schofield was "openly dismissive" of Eamonn Holmes on the set of This Morning, according to reports.

There appears to be no love lost between the former colleagues following Phil's shock admission he'd been having an affair with a young runner on the show.

Eamonn, 63, dropped a number of 'truth bombs' about the father-of-two, 61, in a no holds barred interview, claiming Phil was "rude and dismissive" of his wife, Ruth Langsford, 63.

The presenter also accused the Broom Cupboard star of being 'arrogant' towards guests and staff on This Morning - and now a source has suggested Phil also had it in for Eamonn.

They said: "Phillip was very dismissive of Eamonn, quite openly. We used to call Eamonn and Ruth ‘the B team’.

"On a personal level, Phillip and Eamonn never got on. Eamonn found him snippy and passive- aggressive, and thought he treated the lower-down people on the show very badly," reports MailOnline.

In recent weeks, several celebrities, including Eamonn, have issued a string of attacks against ITV, accusing the channel of a “cover up” following Phil's affair admission. The show is also facing several allegations of a “toxic” work environment on the programme.

Before Eamonn's bombshell claims about his former colleague, Phil blamed a 'handful of people' for bearing a "grudge" against him.

Vanessa Feltz, seemed to agree with the presenter, telling her TalkTV viewers: “It has been suggested that quite a lot of the people who are very vocally critical of This Morning and, actually, it’s a handful of people – there are some celebrities, a couple of journalists – and what’s been suggested is quite a lot of them were once on the programme and aren’t on it anymore.”

She added: “And that is the reason for this aggrieved, kind of grudging malice that is coming out. And if you ask people who are still on the programme and who are on it regularly – who enjoy being on it – they won’t know what they’re talking about."

However, following Phil's statement that his 'haters were bitter', Eamonn fumed: "Schofield has just put out a delusional statement. Like Holly he puts it on Insta Stories so if it goes wrong there is no record after 24 hrs. I'm reluctant to give the liar any more publicity but believe me Pip if u r looking for a fight, u have picked on the wrong person!"

The Mirror has contacted ITV. Phil and Eamonn's reps declined to comment.
