Phillip Schofield tells Davina McCall to 'not patronise' him as icing challenge turns awkward

This Morning's gingerbread house icing challenge turned a little frosty today after Phillip Schofield told Davina McCall to "not patronise him".

Davina was filling in for Holly Willoughby, whose disappearance for a second day was explained as her "taking a day off".

Joined by chef Phil Vickery, Davina and Phil were tasked with decorating gingerbread houses with icing sugar and sweets.

Chef Phil praised Davina's house immediately, gushing: "You are looking fantastic, look at that!"

Davina then asked to see co-host Phil's house and exclaimed: "Oh that's lovely! That's actually quite classy! You look quite proud of yourself."

Chef Phil laughed as her co-star said: "It's quite simple... don't patronise me!"

There was an awkward silence between the pair as Phil told the show's chef to "do the judging".

"Oh dear," chef Phil said while looking at Phil's before awarding Davina with the win.

The awkward moment didn't go unnoticed by viewers, who took to Twitter to comment.

One tweeted: "Don’t reckon Phil is quite at ease with Davina."

While another commented: "Phil cant say a single nice thing about Davina's House... #ThisMorning."

A third quipped: "Davina to Phil: “You look quite proud with yourself”. Has she never seen him before? #ThisMorning."
