Phillip Schofield takes dig at Piers Morgan after he wades in on row

Phillip Schofield made a cheeky dig at his former daytime rival Piers Morgan on Tuesday's This Morning.

The 59-year-old presenter was back on the ITV show alongside Rochelle Humes while usual co-host Holly Willoughby takes an extra weeks off from the programme.

The pair started the show by discussing the Marks & Spencer and Aldi row with Judge Rinder before moving on to discussing the latest Hollywood headlines with their LA correspondent and American journalist Sam Rubin.

Among the stories coming from Tinseltown was that of Demi Lovato who publicly called out a local frozen yoghurt shop on social media after coming across ‘tons of diet foods’ when she visited their store over the weekend.

The singer 28, has since addressed the backlash in an Instagram video in which she said she's "really outspoken about the things that I believe in," before adding: "I have to remember that sometimes my messaging can lose its meaning when I get emotional."

Piers mentioned the story in his Daily Mail column over the weekend.

So as they discussed the story on This Morning, Phillip couldn't help but make a little dig and Piers' expense.

"We know that Piers Morgan waded in so it must be serious," Phillip said before joking: "He's got a lot of time on his hands at the moment..."

The panel giggled before swiftly moving on to the next story.

Piers, 56, waded into the Demi row after said he had often been a customer at the LA-based yogurt store and chose to defend them.

The Bigg Chill has responded to Demi and apologised for her feeling offended, they also pointed out that they catered to all of their customer's needs.
