Phillip Schofield got a little too carried away as he launched into a fierce Pancake Day race against This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby.
The TV presenters went head-to-head as they took on an obstacle course with a frying pan filled with pancake batter.
Schofield was left fuming when his pancake slid out of the pan and dropped onto the floor, leaving viewers stunned when he shouted: “Oh s****!”
Moments later the host realised he had sworn live on air and addressed the mishap.
He told viewers: “I must apologise, I did swear during that. Well, I semi-swore, I added an ‘e’ at the end!”
A shocked Willoughby replied: “Oh my God Phil, did you?”
Viewers were left in hysterics over the gaffe, with many joking that he had taken the race “too seriously.”
One user wrote: “Phil taking the pancake toss a bit too seriously!”
“Did Phil just shout s**** when he dropped his pancake? I hope he doesn’t get in trouble, it was very funny,” said another.
A third mocked: “Think Phil forgot his mic is still on!”
The sarcastic comment left Willoughby in knots as she struggled to continue on to the next topic.
