Phillip Schofield snaps at Nicola Thorp in heated This Morning debate

Phillip Schofield snapped at Nicola Thorp today during a heated This Morning debate sparked by the Sarah Everard vigil on Saturday night.

Phil and his co-host Holly Willoughby were joined by Nicola and Julia Hartley-Brewer to debate the actions of the police at the vigil and the wider issue of women feeling safe on the streets.

The panel had a heated chat, with Nicola arguing that women had faced oppression and misogyny for years and that while not all men were responsible for violence towards women there was a systemic problem in society.

Nicola said that many of her male friends had reached out to her at the weekend asking how they could help to tackle the issue and apologising for not doing more sooner.

Nicola said: "Not all men are abusers, but all men I think at some point in their lives have passed up an opportunity to call out abuse and I'm not just talking about...."

But Phillip snapped back and said: "I haven't."

Nicola said: "You don't think so?"

Phillip said: "No, not to my knowledge."

Nicola said: "Oh well there we go, you're one of the not all men then."

Phillip said: "I suspect there are a great many men who and I'm hearing in the gallery now a number of men saying no that hasn't happened to me."

Nicola hit back and said: "Well I find that really difficult to believe because I as a woman have even been in a situation where I have seen somebody being harassed or lads talking about a woman in a certain way and I've felt like I haven't been able to step in.

"It doesn't mean you're at fault, but it means that you have missed out on an opportunity to be part of the solution."
