Phillip Schofield slams Matt Hancock for "utterly bonkers" advice on seeing parents

Phillip Schofield hit out at Matt Hancock for giving "utterly bonkers" advice on people seeing their parents.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson's speech on Sunday sparked much confusion all over the country, with people wanting more clarity on seeing family in particular.

There was further confusion on Monday when Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab appeared on The Today Programme and told listeners they could meet both parents at the same time "if there's two metres apart."

The Government swiftly stepped into to confirm this wasn't the case and, appearing on This Morning on Tuesday, Health Secretary Matt Hancock was questioned on the matter by host Phillip who told him: "we've been separated for such a long time...you're asking us all to pick a parent."

The Health Secretary replied: "You can see one and then see the the other, that's fine."

Responding, Phillip, who laid into the Government in a scathing rant on Monday, asked: "So I can see my parents 10 minutes apart? to which Matt Hancock said : "yes so long as it's only one at a time."

Not quite believing what he was hearing, Phillip then shouted: "Can't you see that's utterly bonkers?!"

Hancock then told him: "We're looking at ways for two households to interact a lot more but we don't want large groups."
