Phillip Schofield shares poignant plans for life after lockdown and wants to 'hug everyone'

Phillip Schofield has shared his plans for the next few months as the government gradually eases lockdown.

The This Morning host, 58, has written his own personal lockdown road map on a chalk board in his kitchen showing all the plans he's made following Prime Minister Boris Johnson 's announcement this week.

Phil made a note of all the key dates which were given as part of the plan to get the country back to normal - and added what he's got planned.

On the board, he scribbled: "March 8th sit on a bench outside with one friend," and below that he added: "March 29th invite six people to the garden. See mum/see family."

The telly star went on: "April 12th haircut/ have a drink and eat outside!" and then he wrote: "May 17th Go to the cinema, have two households over. Holiday? Eat in a restaurant!"

The list concluded with: "June 21st Hug everyone!!!??"

The board was titled Kitchen Notes and Phil added a picture of his hard work on Instagram, reports the Daily Record.

He captioned it: "My roadmap, never has something so simple felt so important."

Phil has spent much lockdown holed up with his wife Stephanie Lowe and their daughters, Molly and Ruby at the family home in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

He's continued working throughout the pandemic, with his regular slot on This Morning and Dancing On Ice alongside Holly Willoughby.

The pair discussed this week's announcement on This Morning, and Holly joked she can't wait to finally be able to hug her co-star.

Holly asked Phil: "What are you going to do first?" and he replied: "I just want someone to sit in the garden with!"

She then added: "You can do that before though - the 21st?... It's a Monday, the first thing I am going to do is hug you.

"I might lick your face, just because I can!"

Phil then added: "Can you imagine how weird… That means I could pick [my chair] up and come and sit over there [with you].

"That will be the truest sign, after all we have been through - staying on air, still holding on by our fingernails, incredible crews.

"That will be the sign that life is going back to normal to me."

The government announced this week restrictions in England will start easing in four stages with earliest dates for each stage given as March 8, April 12, May 17 and June 21.

It's hoped some children will be able to return to school from next month, while non-essential shops, hairdressers and beauty salons could reopen from April 12 at the earliest.

Meeting five friends in a pub beer garden could come in as soon as April 12.

It's hoped Boris' "one-way road to freedom" will mean most restrictions will be lifted by June 21st at the earliest.
