Phillip Schofield shares details on boozy lunch with Holly Willoughby and more celeb pals

Phillip Schofield made the most of his Monday afternoon by heading out with his co-star and more celeb pals.

The This Morning host headed from the ITV studio straight to lunch with Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan.

Also joining them was fellow This Morning regular Rochelle Humes and Christine and Frank Lampard.

But Phil appeared to have a bit of drink regret when the 59-year-old shared a snap from outside the restaurant with not one but two drinks.

Alongside the snap to his millions of Instagram followers showing a full wine glass and what looks like a cocktail, he wrote: "When you know that THIS was the moment you should have stopped #lunch #friends.'"

He then shared a socially distanced selfie of the group as they left their restaurant of choice.

Holly, 40, was seen cuddling her TV producer hubby Dan, 46 on one side while Christine, 42, also did the same to her other half Frank, 42.

Rochelle, 32, came solo and smiled for the camera in the middle of the loved-up couples.

The team lunch came after Phillip said on This Morning that he was 'sick' of having to socially distance from Holly on the popular show.

As they introduced what was coming up on Monday's show, the hosting duo made the standard move from their kitchen seats to the sofa ready for the next segment.

But as Phil began to explain today's phone-in, he realised a momentary error.

"A word about today's phone-in, with the expected announcement that hugging will be allowed next Monday..." the 59-year-old said as he turned to look at Holly after the pair have spent more than a year working two metres apart.

Holly gave her co-star a little wave before Phillip jumped up and realised: "We're a lot closer than we're meant to be, hang on a second..." as he shuffled along rearranging the sofa cushions.

"Back off down that end," Holly responded. "I'm where I should be."

"I'm not," Phil said with a sigh. "I'm sick of all of this."

"Nearly, nearly," Holly pleaded as the rules in England gradually ease.
