Phillip Schofield says Tom Cruise caused 'absolute chaos' at Queen's Jubilee celebrations

This Morning's Phillip Schofield says Tom Cruise 'caused absolute chaos' when he attended the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration, which took place at Windsor Castle, last night. The celebrations, to mark the Queen's 70-year reign, aired on ITV and saw Phillip host the broadcast alongside Julie Etchingham.

Hollywood actor Cruise, who is best known for playing action roles in films such as Mission Impossible and Top Gun, was one of the many celebrity stars in attendance at the celebratory event, where he announced a performance by The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The star-studded line-up also included the likes of Helen Mirren, Omid Djalili and Alan Titchmarsh.

The 59-year-old actor was interviewed by Phillip and Julie and spoke of his admiration for The Queen, the Manchester Evening News reports. "I think she is someone who has tremendous dignity and I admire her devotion," Tom told the hosts, "What she has accomplished has been historic".

Appearing on This Morning, Philip was quizzed by his co-host Holly, who had just returned after a week off to host ITV's The Games, about interviewing the Hollywood star live on air. She said: "It was quite hot in your studio last night.. Tom Cruise on the show!"

To which Philip revealed the star caused commotion after deciding to take a stroll to the studio and fans rushed to speak to him. "Well now he's a class act, that's for sure," Phillip said: "He caused absolute chaos in Windsor because he decided to walk to the studio. So the police obviously then had to do serious crowd control at the drop of a hat.

"But he met everybody," Phillip added: "We went into his Winnebago... the most delightful man. When he did our interview he then went downstairs and met everybody, went into rooms to meet people... proper eye contact. He is a class act".

A selfie of Phillip and Tom Cruise then flashed up on screen, both in black suits with bow ties. Holly then added: "Look at those two handsome fellas there. That’s a great photo". "What an amazing night," Phil added.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
