Phillip Schofield confessed he was nearly sick telling his daughters he was gay.
Heartbreaking conversations were had behind the four walls of the £2million Oxfordshire family home where he lives happily with his wife of 27 years Steph and their daughters Molly and Ruby.
Later, the presenter would tell the world he was gay with Holly Willoughby at his side on the This Morning sofa.
His new autobiography Life's What You Make It delved into what really unfolded when the ITV star come out as gay to his family first.
And it was a stomach-churning and uncertain time for the star.
Perhaps his most gutting confession, Phil recalled telling his grown-up girls "almost made me sick".
However, Steph, Molly and Ruby rallied around Phil to form a support network.
In his darkest hours, his loyal wife reassured him how much all the girls loved him.
He wrote: “When things got really dark, (Steph) reminded me how much they all loved me and that there was nothing that the four of us couldn’t cope with."
Phillip has splashed out on a £2million flat in north London near his celeb pals.
But he has chosen to stay with his family throughout the lockdown period in the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Their home life has looked great fun over lockdown as together they have dressed up for Murder Mysteries and hosted family BBQs.
The dad-of-two also found the time to write his autobiography after he scooped a £1.5million book deal.
