Phillip Schofield says he's made 'massive mistake' in video with Holly Willoughby

Phillip Schofield has been seen admitting to making a 'massive mistake' in a video with Holly Willoughby. The pair could be seen backstage at Dancing on Ice which came to an end on Sunday night (March 12).

The hosts of the ITV skating competition were back rinkside for the final of the live contest which saw Nile Wilson, Joey Essex, and The Vivienne all go head-to-head in a bid to be crowned champions and lift the Dancing on Ice trophy. The three finalists all skated an original, 'showcase' routine which had been choreographed by show judges and skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and performed in a skate battle to whittle the competition down from three to two remaining contestants.

Drag queen The Vivienne and her partner Colin Grafton were eliminated before Joey and his partner Vanessa Bauer and Nile and his partner Olivia Smart performed their own versions of Torvill and Dean's iconic, Olympic-winning Bolero routine. And it was Nile and Olivia Smart who emerged victorious following the dazzling final, with Phillip revealing more than a million votes had been cast.

Now the dust has settled, and the ice cleared, Dancing on Ice has shared a video in which Phillip, 60, Holly, 42, and the show's expert ice panel reveal who they thought they would win the series after making their predictions before any of this year's star-studded line-up took to the ice.

"Way back before anyone skated, we were picking who we thought was going to win," Phillip explained as he stood alongside Holly, Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean still in their stunning final attire. Phillip then admitted: "I’ve made a massive mistake. It’s the worst I’ve ever done."

He then explained: "Because I went off what people were saying backstage, and I listened. People were saying ‘Oh my god, really one to watch, one to watch'.'" Holly then said: "I've waited nine weeks for this," as Phillip continued: "This is the worst…oh, there’s nothing in it, what a shame," he then joked as he opened his envelope.

"No, you won’t believe what I’ve done... Ekin-Su!" he eventually revealed as his co-stars laughed. Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su was eliminated from the competition in week four. "I loved watching Ekin-Su," Holly confessed. "I loved watching her too,” Phillip echoed as Ashley quipped: "Close."

The others, however, got much closer with Holly revealing that she’d predicted The Vivienne would win, as did Oti and Jayne, while Ashley said Joey Essex. Christopher was the closest but slightly cheated as he put down two names, predicting that either Nile Wilson or Vivienne would win.
