Phillip Schofield's forgotten appearances in Emmerdale

Ex-This Morning star Philip Schofield has been crowned the king of TV but not many remember his Emmerdale debut.

Schofield, yesterday (May 21) quit as an This Morning presenter after more than 20 years hosting the show. He has presented This Morning since 2002 and he’s also known to millions for fronting Dancing On Ice.

But many people forget that Philip is one of many famous faces who have enjoyed a cameo in Emmerdale - making not just one but two appearances on the long running Yorkshire soap.

As far back as 18 years ago the TV star appeared on Emmerdale alongside his then-This Morning co-host Fern Britton as part of a major storyline.

They were part of an appeal to find show legend Alan Turner’s missing partner Shelly Williams, which was a huge story for the ITV soap in 2005.

But, this wasn't Schofield's only appearance. He did also pop up in Emmerdale back in 2015. This was part of a charity challenge for Text Santa where he had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him part in Emmerdale.

The challenge saw Philip appear in every show screened on ITV on a specific day until 10pm. In that Emmerdale appearance, he was spotted in the background during a scene in David’s Shop.

These appearances aren't his only connection with the show, he's actually narrated three documentaries about the soap. These were Emmerdale Christmas Crackers, Emmerdale's Greatest Love Triangles and Farewell Seth - A Tribute to Stan Richards.
