Phillip Schofield makes cheeky Dancing On Ice dig with hilarious results

Phillip Schofield has made a cheeky dig at Dancing On Ice in his latest Instagram post.

The ITV presenter co-hosts the skating competition with Holly Willoughby and it's been a tricky few weeks.

Dancing On Ice is only just heading in to its fourth week this weekend and three exits and two replacements have already been made.

Denise Van Outen was the first to leave after a horror fall in training resulted in three shoulder fractures.  Then, Rufus Hound had to leave due to a positive coronavirus test.

They were then replaced by Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler and comedian Matt Richardson - who sadly left in the skate-off last Sunday.

Billie Shepherd also had to exit the competition following medical advice after suffering concussion from a fall in training.

Due to missing the week previous following a family bereavement, Billie wasn't allowed to get a free pass.

Phil and Holly joked at the start of last Sunday's show that they were still "hanging on" despite the celeb cast quickly dwindling.

And Phil's latest dig has had people in stitches.

The 58-year-old shared a post from DOI's official Instagram page as they wished Holly a happy 40th birthday on Wednesday.

The picture hilariously mocked up Phil and Holly on the ice performing the frightening head banger move.

But Phil had the perfect response, commenting: "If there are any more injuries, we'll have to put into practice when we have been learning."

The post, however, has put ideas into fans heads.

"I'd love to see Holly and Phill do dancing on ice," wrote one.

Another said: "Imagine if this did happen on Sunday."

"This is genius," a third added.

Another even remembered Holly's fear adding: "Could she even look at it though? We all know how she feels about the headbanger."
