Phillip Schofield makes a savage dig at his former rival Piers Morgan

Phillip Schofield and Piers Morgan have a famously rocky friendship, and Phil couldn't resist making a dig at him.

The This Morning host, 58, took to his Instagram stories on Friday night to post a video of the new rubbish crusher that he's had installed in his kitchen sink.

And Phil joked that he was putting Piers' new book Wake Up down the new gadget, and even shared a video of the book's cover getting crushed down the plug hole.

In the savage post, Phil shared his joy at his new purchase as he filmed his own book Life's What You Make It laying on the edge of the sink.

Phil captioned the post: "New Insinkerator installed, amazing!

"Apparently it will dispose of almost anything... @PiersMorgan."

He added the kissing and laughing emojis.

Phil picked up Piers' book and placed it on the crusher.

Then in the next video the machine was turned on and the book cover was sinking into it.

"Yup, bit chewy, but that works @PiersMorgan," Phil added.

Phil and Piers have fallen out in the past, and at one point refused to speak to each other.

But they have made up and Piers praised Phil's bravery when he came out as gay back in February.

They have been jokingly feuding with each other recently after their books were released at similar times.
