Phillip Schofield 'left fuming' after This Morning guest smashes glass table

Phillip Schofield was seemingly left fuming after a guest smashed a glass table in the This Morning studio.

The hosts of the ITV show were speaking to Jonathan Sayer, Henry Lewis and Henry Shields, the creators of The Play That Goes Wrong, when the accident took place.

As the trio were introduced, one of the guests dropped his mug through the glass table and sent glass shattering across the studio floor, Wales Online reports .

An angry Phil told them: "Does that follow you everywhere you go? Does everything go wrong?"

Holly Willoughby added: "Great, well er, we'll clean that up then, shall we."

As the guests tried to apologise for the chaos, Phil continued: "You'll pay for that by the way!"

However, it soon became apparent the incident was actually a stunt, with Phil telling viewers: "A few minutes ago they caused chaos in our studio, that was fantastic.

"We've got sugar glass on the table and a microphone underneath. It just goes to prove that you can make something look sensational if you do it right."

Many This Morning fans said they weren't trick by the stunt however, with one saying: "I mean all those confused people thinking that was real. Are YOU for real??"

"Do you really think we fell for that #ThisMorning?" said another.
