Phillip Schofield left cleaning up dog poo after This Morning segment goes wrong

The studio at ITV's This Morning is known for being plush, with its big blue comfy sofa and pristine beige carpet.

And that pale carpet was the perfect spot for a dog to do its business - live on TV.

Coco and Chanel are both looking for a new home after they were found in a shopping bag a few weeks ago.

Clearly, the pooches didn't care they were making their TV debut after one of them happily went to the toilet in the middle of the ITV studio.

"Oh we've had a little accident," said Holly.

"It happens when you get nervous on the telly sometimes," she added.

"We've all done it," Phillip replied, grabbing a wad of tissues to help clean it up.

That's when the other dog decided he wasn't going to miss out on mucking up the carpet and joined in too.

The dogs appeared on the show as part of a segment on rehoming dogs.

Last year, French Bulldogs became the UK's most popular dog breed, overtaking Labradors as the nation's favourite.

But with the popularity rise, it means more and more French Bulldogs are being abaondoned.

Phil asked: "So what sort of home do you think would suit them best? One with lino, I would have thought."

Kirsty, who brought them from the animal rescue centre, said: "they will probably need ongoing help with house training."

Holly said: "They haven't had a very good five years, let's give them the rest of their life that they deserve."
