Phillip Schofield 'kicks off' on This Morning seconds before show goes live

Phillip Schofield 'kicked off' on the This Morning set, seconds before the show went live on Thursday.

Just like every other day this week, Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby, welcomed millions of viewers to another edition of the ITV programme but it started with the pair talking about something that happened moments before cameras started rolling.

Looking up from the presenting desk, Phillip, who has been the subject of rumours of a big money BBC deal, opened the show by saying: "It's kicking off, I'm kicking off...it's all going wrong."

Holly then interjected to say: "If you'd heard us five seconds before air Phillip was actually screaming."

Going onto explain why he was left exasperated, Phillip said: "If you follow this show, like for a long time, you'll know that years ago I had my eyes lasered and they have been incredible, like unbelievable.

"I've got one distance eye and one reading eye...and they've been amazing...since Christmas the reading eye is slipping and slipping, just a little bit. "

Trying and failing to hold in a chuckle, Holly said: I don't know why I'm laughing as it's not very funny," to which Phillip replied: "well you were laughing before!"

Camera trickery than revealed what Phillip can see with the screen all blurred to which he shouted: "THAT'S WHAT I CAN SEE!" before adding: "I want to get them lasered again but the laser place isn't open!"

Suggesting an obvious solution, Holly said: "Put your specs on," but he replied: "I can't!"
