Phillip Schofield interrupts 'thief' Holly Willoughby after catching her live on air

Phillip Schofield called out Holly Willoughby on today's This Morning for being a "thief".

The presenter spotted his co-host stealing part of the show's set during a phone-in with Vanessa Feltz and claimed viewers had "witnessed theft on television".

Just as Holly was previewing the upcoming Halloween segment, Phillip interrupted to ask Holly what she was doing with a tiny pumpkin in her hands.

He asked: "What are you doing? You’ve had that for the whole phone-in."

Giggling Holly didn't no what to say as she tried to hide the little pumpkin under her arm.

Explaining herself, she said: "i looked at it and thought you know what its the perfect pumpkin and I want to take it home."

Phil replied: "So we’ve just witnessed theft on television. We all watched you take it."

Placing the pumpkin under her arm, Holly joked: "I’m very relaxed. Nothing to see here."

Mischievous Holly then let the pumpkin roll onto the floor across the studio.

See you after the break," said Holly, before pointing at the pumpkin and adding: "That's mine!"

Following the adverts, Phillip was still talking about "pumpkin-gate" and trying to establish Holly's motives.

She explained: "It looked like the perfect little pumpkin and I wanted to see how it felt."

Phillip delivered the shocking blow that the little pumpkin was not actually real.

"It does seem nice," admitted Phil. "Not sure I would have stolen it live on telly. There's one less in here."

Someone of the production team had picked up the pumpkin from the floor and placed it back on the table.

After spotting it again, Holly said: "I'll find it. I know which one it is. Come on we’ve got a show to do."
