Philip Schofield was in tears this morning after opening up to Holly Willoughby after announcing he is gay.
The This Morning and Dancing on Ice presenter made the announcement on his Instagram account today.
Schofield has been married for 27 years and has two children to Stephanie Lowe.
He and Holly appeared on This Morning today to talk about the announcement, despite Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford presenting the show.
"I was getting to the point where i didn't like myself because i wasn't being honest," he told Holly.
"I need to be that person on the other side of the sofa telling their story.
"This is absolutely my decison. It is something I have to do.
"I am very conscious of the hurt but I am proud of myself today."
Talking about the moment he told his children, Phil said: "They are so amazing. They said 'it's okay, we'll be okay. We'll always be a family.'"
After Holly asked what the future might hold for Phil, he admitted: "I'm not thinking their. I'm doing each day at a time. This has always been a slow process.
"This is the day I knew everything was pointing towards."
Holly then very emotionally said to her friend and co-host: "I will be by your side forever and ever."
"Thank you. Thank you," Phil said.
"This is the sister I never had."
