Phillip Schofield hints This Morning could be forced off air by coronavirus

This Morning host Phillip Schofield left viewers concernd on Thursday after suggesting the daytime show could be forced off the air by coronavirus.

The spread of coronavirus has affected a number of TV shows with Loose Women filming with no audience and EastEnders suspending filming as well as the BBC halting filming on Casualty, Holby City, Doctors and River City too.

On Wednesday, Saturday Night Takeaway revealed it would have no studio audience for the rest of the series and that next week's episode would be shorter than normal and then Coronation Street and Emmerdale announced major schedule changes.

And, in a discussion alongside co-host Holly Willoughby, psychologist Emma Kenny and guest panellist Vanessa Feltz, Phillip said something that hinted the show might bot be kept going as normal for much longer.

Addressing a viewer question about what to do with children when the schools close, Phillip said "Doctor Ranj will be here on Monday...if we're still here that is!!!...to talk through that, offering help on how to work with your children."

His words came after he admitting This Morning was "hanging on by the skin of its teeth" on Wednesday.

“I don’t think we should worry if the format should slightly change,” panellist Anneka Rice said in reference to the news about Saturday Night Takeaway.

A statement from ITV read: "‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead this weekend without a studio audience. Our priority is safeguarding the well-being of everyone involved. ‘The show will be made with a reduced production crew and in accordance with the latest guidance from Public Health England.

"The team are looking forward to bringing our viewers a brilliant show on Saturday evening."
