Phillip Schofield brought Dancing on Ice rehearsals to a stand still, reducing Holly Willoughby to tears as he addressed his sexuality.
It's still not been a week since the famous TV presenter's very public coming out, when he revealed he was gay in a poignant statement on Instagram and then in a live on air chat with Holly on Friday's This Morning.
And Dancing on Ice pro skater Matt Evers has now revealed that Phillip called a halt to rehearsals at the weekend to address 'the elephant in the room'.
Follow his and celebrity partner H's exit from the show on Sunday, Matt told Heart: “I think at one point in production he stopped rehearsals and said, ‘I just need to say this, I don’t want to be the elephant in the room anymore, if you want to give me a hug, give me a hug.’
"He wanted to get that out in dress rehearsal before we were live and it was a really nice moment.
“Holly teared up and there was about five or six of us that were all standing around him at that point, and we all just gave him a hug and said, ‘you know what, you’re going to be fine.’”
As Phillip returned to Dancing on Ice on Sunday, some viewers , while the show's judge Ashley Banjo prompted hearty applause from the studio audience when he called him "an absolute legend."
