Phillip Schofield gushes over Holly Willoughby amid This Morning feud row

Phillip Schofield was heard gushing over Holly Willoughby amid an alleged feud between the two This Morning co-hosts.

Phil, 57, has revealed that their close friendship has been a huge factor in their TV success.

He explained to MailOnline : "It worked so perfectly because we think at the same speed, we've got the same sense of humour. It works so well."

Their notable friendship is frequently watched by millions of Brits each day, and Holly, 38, herself admitted she could never have predicted their partnership to become what it has.

She said: "We hadn't done This Morning together yet but Dancing On Ice really was the first time."

She added: "For me, I had just come from kids telly, Dancing on Ice was the first grown-up telly I had ever done! Even if I had dreamt the best possible outcome, I would never have expected this."

Phil, too, revealed that he never thought Dancing On Ice would become as much of a hit as it has.

He said: "We were terrified, the pair of us were really scared. It was a very big show and a big new idea.

"There is also an element of danger with 'Dancing On Ice', which we don't have in anything else. You're constantly thinking 'Wow. Someone could hurt themselves here. And it's live!'"

Holly has sensationally revealed said she will leave  This Morning  if her co-host Phillip Schofield ever quits the show (BBC)

It comes as earlier this month, Holly sensationally revealed said she will leave This Morning if Phil ever quits the show.

In an episode of Shopping With Keith Lemon , Holly said she couldn't imagine fronting the show without her TV husband amid rumours of a feud circulating the pair.

Holly was quizzed by comedian Keith, 46, on the steps she would take in her career if Phil ever decided to leave the show.

She said: "If he left This Morning... well we've always said from the beginning that if either of us left then we wouldn't want to do it as I can't imagine This Morning without Phil, it's us together."

She continued: "I've been doing it for 10 years, it feels like forever. For a long time I felt like the new girl, I was a big fan of watching the show.

"Watching Phil and Ferne, they were my This Morning presenters. So when I say it feels like forever, it's because it's so nice."

She jokingly added: "I think we're getting too deep now and I want to get deeper but not in front of the escalator where I can hear it whilst I'm talking so let's go somewhere else."
