Phillip Schofield furiously says Boris Johnson is incapable of being honest amid scandal

Phillip Schofield has insisted that Boris Johnson is 'incapable of being honest' amid news that the Prime Minister broke Covid rules by attending a garden party during the height of the pandemic in May 2020.

It's fresh hell for Johnson this week after a picture emerged of him enjoying a platter of cheese and wine alongside his wife and up to 17 staff at a Downing Street garden party during the UK lockdown.

The photograph, which was obtained by t he Guardian, came after members of Number 10 denied any involvement in the social event which took place on Friday 15 May 2020.

The controversial image sees the Prime Minister relaxing at a picnic table with his wife and work colleagues as wine, spirits and pizza can be seen on the outdoor table.

Following the emergence of the telling photograph, Johnson’s spokesman said Downing Street staff were 'working in the garden in the afternoon and evening'.

However, furious UK citizens have hit out at the Prime Minister for his dishonesty while thousands of people were unable to visit their dying loved-ones who lay in hospital beds - all the while, Johnson was lapping up the sunshine with over 20 people.

During a blood-boiling segment on This Morning, where Holly Willougbhy and Phillip Schofield discussed the future of Johnson's reign, tensions escalated as Phil called out the Prime Minister's dishonest nature.

The 59-year-old TV host insisted that Johnson appeared to be 'incapable of being honest' as he continues to remain silent amid the scandal.

Discussing whether the Prime Minister will address the issue any time soon, Phil questioned whether or not an apology will be enough at this stage in the game.

"Will a grovelling apology be enough? It seems at this stage that the Prime Minister is incapable of being honest," the This Morning host fumed.

"He needs to grovel for his life," Holly added.

Elsewhere, politics expert Nick insisted that Johnson's time in parliament has come to an end as he predicted the end of his reign as Prime Minister following the garden party scandal.

"His luck is running out. It's the last days of Boris Johnson," he insisted.

Following the discussion, This Morning viewers flocked to Twitter to share their own thoughts on the matter.

"People's loved-ones were dying alone with nobody by their sides because they were following Covid rules. But Boris Johnson was stuffing his face with pizza and wine at a garden party with his Tory pals. That will never be okay. He needs to be fired," one viewer fumed.
