Phillip Schofield frustrated with Holly Willoughby after she accuses him of cheating

Phillip Schofield was left feeling rather frustrated on Wednesday's This Morning when his co-host Holly Willoughby failed to understand a particular British saying.

The TV duo were discussing some of the latest headlines alongside Gyles Brandreth Georgia Toffolo, when the conversation turned to popular British phrases.

As Gyles mentioned "where there’s muck, there’s brass", mum-of-three Holly looked very confused and admitted she didn't know what the saying actually meant.

"You find muck? I don’t understand," Holly claimed, as the camera cut to Phillip and he was seen putting his head in his hands.

As Gyles tried his best to explain what the phrase meant and the context in which it was used, Phil looked more and more frustrated.

Laughing the embarrassment off, Holly then said: "Well there you go, you learn something new every day!"

However, the awkward moments didn't end there as later on in the ITV show the pair played another game of Guess the Gadget.

Even This Morning's official Twitter page admitted that "things got a little heated in the final" as they shared a clip of the game, in which Holly accused Phillip of cheating.

The competitive blonde was determined to beat her pal as they tried to guess what certain gadgets are used for.

But as they were presented with one particular item, Holly felt that Steve Wilson had given Phillip a hint as to what it could be.

So, I know you haven't written anything, but top of your head Phil?" Steve asked him.

"It's for compressing something, it's a compressor!" Phillip answered, as Steve added: "For what?"

"Of paper, of cardboard, of something for recycling," Phillip continued as Steve gave him a look.

Phillip then blurted out: "A can crusher! It’s a can crusher!" but Holly did not miss a trick.

"I just saw... no way, if that thing crushes cans, he’s not getting that point! I’m just saying… because its a can crusher," she giggled, as Steve asked her what she had written down.

"I put a folding device for cans," Holly lied as Steve asked her to reveal what she had really put down.

Holding up her board, Holly joked: "And that says cans but I’m dyslexic, I actually am!"

As Phillip laughed, he asked his co-host: "Do you want to go to the adjudicator?" but Holly was fed up and bluntly replied: "No."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
