Phillip Schofield forced to stop Ant Middleton's This Morning interview after a strange problem

Ant Middleton, the 38-year-old SAS: Who Dares Wins star and author appeared on ITV's chat show This Morning on Tuesday to discuss family and his upcoming tour - Mind Over Muscle.

Middleton was talking with the show's co-host Phillip Schofield but there was a consistent technical issue. The sound kept breaking up as Middleton was talking due to microphone problems.

"Come over, we'll just stick that on," Phil said as Holly explained that there was a bit of a mic issue and a crew member came to fix it.

Phil then joked: "I'm worried that anyone who came over out of your field of vision would have been taken out right there.

The Mirror reports that Holly and Phil went on with the chat - but as the sound problems continued the interview had to be halted, as the Mic was changed.

The mic was then changed by the runner and without too much interruption the chat resumed where Ant also addressed the controversy he received over comments he made about his son crying.

He previously said that he wanted his son to adopt a "stiff upper lip" attitude, but admitted that he was quick to comfort his crying daughter.

During an interview on Giovanna Fletcher's podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby, he said: "That’s life. It’s not being sexist, it’s not being non- PC. I’ll say it how it is and, in my heart of hearts, I think I’m doing the right thing."

Explaining his thought process over his remarks about his son, he said: "I teach him to take advantage of his emotions [...] to hold that emotion to get the job done." "There's no right in parenting," he said. "I instil what I think is right."
