Phillip Schofield defends This Morning's decision to discuss orgasms and viagra

Phillip Schofield joked about receiving Ofcom complaints after discussing orgasms and an alternative to viagra on This Morning.

Holly and Phil hosted Dr Chris Steele on Thursday's show to discuss a new viagra gel which is claimed to work faster than the typical viagra pill.

Later on in the show, orgasm expert Ky Hoyle, who teaches around 500 women a week to orgasm, was also questioned.

But Phil was quick to predict that shocked viewers would soon complain to the broadcast regulator after the discussions.

As they discussed intimate details of the male and female genitalia, Phillip joked: "Good morning Ofcom, you’re welcome!".

The This Morning hosts stood by their decision to discuss the subject on national TV despite it taking place in the early hours.

Phil said: "There will be people who will complain about the fact that we are doing this segment.

"Once again, we’re always happy to smash down those little taboo walls."

However, shocked viewers took to Twitter to object to the show's choice of topic.

One woman tweeted: "This was soooooo wrong for today! Shame on this morning. There's a time and a place. This wasn't it! It should be talked about.

"But not in day time tele when u have kids still about, maybe other family members living with u whilst during lockdown. Embarrassing!!!"

Another commented: "We’ve come a long way in breakfast television haven’t we? Never thought I would feel so awkward and embarrassed watching @thismorning@itvstudios with my husbands 80 year old grandmother!"

A fourth person fumed: "#ThisMorning too much 2day! There's no need for this at all. This is adult talk. Kids, relatives, grandparents are staying at people's homes during these times for support."

But Twitter wasn't full of complaints. One tweet read: "Oh please. Sex needs discussing. Turn over ffs. Let the grown ups watch. #ThisMorning."

And another added: "Well done @thismorning great that this is being talked about. Sex makes the world go round, why are we embarrassed by it."
