Phillip Schofield sees funny side after fans point out Dancing On Ice lighting blunder

Phillip Schofield is usually the picture of suave when he appears on Dancing On Ice, but a behind-the-scenes blunder left him red-faced.

The This Morning star, 58, looked like he had wet himself in an awkwardly-framed photo taken by his stylist David O'Brien.

David took a picture of Phillip looking dapper in his suit, but the combination of the bright studio lights and the shadow from David's head made it appear that Phillip had had an accident.

Luckily, Phil saw the funny side to the gaffe and shared it on Instagram with his 3.1 million followers after the show aired this weekend.

"When glam shots go wrong!!" he captioned the post.

"@DavidOBrien75 didn't realise his shadow made me look like I'd pee'd me troos!!"

He also added a string of crying with laughter emojis.

On last weekend's show Phillip joked that he'd have to skate himself after so many stars have been forced to exit the competition early.

Billie Faiers was confirmed on Saturday to have left the show after suffering a concussion, while Rufus Hound is having to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus, and Denise Van Outen pulled out due to injury.

Meanwhile professional skater Yebin Mok had to be rushed to hospital after a move in training went wrong.

"We're still here, holding on by our fingernails!" Phil joked.

"We're gonna have to get on the ice if this keeps happening!" his co-host Holly Willoughby added.

Turning to the judging panel, Phil said: "Well... I've got my skates!"

*Dancing On Ice airs at 6pm on Sundays on ITV.
