Phillip Schofield booed by This Morning crew for snubbing fan

A red-faced Phillip Schofield was booed by the This Morning crew during an awkward live phone-in.

The TV presenter, 58, received a telling off from a fan when he and his co-host Holly Willoughby played their infamous Spin To Win game on Monday morning.

Mike, a caller from Bristol, took the opportunity to call out Phil, revealing the star had previously snubbed an autograph request from his daughter.

Mike told the show that he and his daughter Honey had chased Phil to a hot air balloon to the BBC Radio 1 Roadshow "many years ago".

Phil's face dropped as Mike recalled the story.

"You guys go way back!" Holly said.

But it wasn't as sweet as Holly, 39, thought, with Mike explaining: "We followed you, my daughter ran to the balloon.

"She tells me this story many many times, she asked you for your autograph and you said you were too busy."

A sullen Phil was clearly embarrassed when he was jeered by the behind-the-scenes crew on the ITV show with the presenter attempting to explain himself before rolling his eyes.

He quickly made a bee-line for the This Morning sofa where his notepad was: "Right! Step forward, step forward!", Phil exclaimed to Holly as he grabbed the pen and paper.

"I was probably hanging out of a balloon at the time!" he said.

Mike could be heard laughing in the background, showing he doesn't hold it against Phil.

And keen to make up for the incident, Holly promised that they would add some signed goodies to his winnings for Honey.

Holly then asked Mike to tell her who sang 'Man! I feel like a Woman', to which Mike couldn't answer.

Phil shouted "Shania Twain!" to Mike so he could win the bag of 'money can't buy prizes' before holding up his message to Mike's daughter which read: "To Honey, not too busy this time!! With love, Phillip Schofield x."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
