Phillip Schofield blasts ‘mean’ Matthew Wright for fat shaming Friends cast

Phillip Schofield couldn’t resist making another dig at Matthew Wright and his ponytail on Thursday’s This Morning.

Phillip and his co-host Holly Willoughby invited Matthew along with Julia Hartley-Brewer onto the show to discuss the latest headlines, and the conversation soon to the highly-anticipated Friends reunion.

After watching the new trailer, dad-of-two Phillip admitted: "Can’t wait!" as 40-year-old Holly added: "Oh it’s gonna be so good!"

But Matthew then commented: "You can see who’s been eating all the pies can’t you?"

Phillip was clearly unimpressed with his remark and hit back: "Oh you’re so mean! stop judging people so horribly! Look at your bloody ponytail!"

Not phased by the dig, Matthew shook his head from side-to-side shouting: "Where? Where?" as the cameraman gave viewers a closer look at his hair from the back.

Matthew then added: "I still fancy Lisa Kudrow! Lisa is still absolutely beautiful, looks untouched by surgeon’s hands which only adds to her appeal."

"Oh you are a shocker!" Phillip told him, before asking Julia on her opinion of the upcoming reunion.

Phillip also mocked Matthew's ponytail again as they discussed the Friends reunion (ITV)

"I'm so excited about this, I love Friends! But bear in mind, this series would not be made now, it’s not PC the way they talk about men and woman, a whole white cast..." she told Holly and Phillip.

The two minute trailer for the Friends reunion dropped on social media on Wednesday and shows the cast reenacting some memorable moments from the hit TV series.

The trailer also sees the stars being overcome with emotion as they walk onto the sound stage for the first time in almost 20 years, debate that age old question of whether or not Ross and Rachel actually were on a break and speak about the incredible bond they all developed in their time working together.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
