Phillip Schofield apologises to This Morning viewers after Richard Dreyfuss swears AGAIN

Phillip Schofield was forced to apologise to This Morning viewers earlier today after Richard Dreyfuss swore live on air for the second time in just three days.

The Jaws star was on the sofa promoting his Evening with Richard Dreyfuss show and talking about his longstanding career when he let slip a naughty word.

Both Holly and Phil both said: ‘Oops!’ and Phil quickly looked at the camera and said ‘Sorry!’.

It happened while Richard was speaking of the time he discovered he was not as tall as he believed he was.

He said: “I realised for the first time that I was short – and I was p****d.”

This is the second time in three days the veteran actor has swore live on air - the Hollywood star appeared on BBC’s The One Show to discuss his new film, The Astronaut, on Friday when he suffered a similar hiccup.

Sharing an anecdote about Steven Spielberg, who directed Dreyfuss’ films including Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Richard said the word ‘bulls***’.

Hosts Amol Rajan and Angela Scanlon scolded him and said he could not use language like that, before apologising to the audience at home.

Viewers of the ITV daytime show chuckled at the swearing.

One fan said: “@RichardDreyfuss swearing on #ThisMorning was a highlight to my morning. Phillip’s apology was sweet, bless him!”

Another tweeted: “He said p****d ??? I'm offended and want compensation for my ears please.”

This Morning airs weekdays from 10.30am on ITV.
