Phillip Schofield accidentally calls Angela 'Klabera' in awkward blunder

Phillip Schofield was left red-faced after making an ironic error minutes before the Dancing On Ice winner was announced.

He was chatting to finalists Sonny Jay and Angela Egan about their time on the ITV programme.

They have been working on the show since October and the host wanted to know how much they have enjoyed the experience.

He remarked how the contestants have had six months to learn how to skate - and asked how they had found learning a new skill.

But even after all that time watching them in action, he then called Angela 'Klabera'.

Fans saw the irony in Phil's error (ITV)

Sonny was quick to put him right, simply saying bluntly: "Angela."

She burst out laughing, before Phil corrected himself.

Klabera, of course, is fellow finalist Colin Jackson's pro dance partner.

Colin and Klabera finished in third place despite topping the leaderboard tonight.

But the best bit about their time is the friendship they have formed, the pair said.

Angela laughed it off as the host got her name wrong (ITV)

“I've taken a wonderful new friend in Klabera,” Colin said, while talking about his time on the show.

Fans loved Phil's awkward error and took to twitter to make sure he doesn't forget it.

"Oh Phil....you just said they had six months to learn!" one said.

Another put: "Haha that sums up Dancing On Ice 2021!"

A third said: "Phil calling Angela Klabera oops!".

Sonny Jay and Angela were soon crowned winners, and got to lift the trophy despite the most testing series of the show ever.

The hosts got their names right as they announced they are the champions.
