Phillip Lindsay shares perfect post for players not invited to NFL combine

Every year, “top” college prospects from around the country are invited to the NFL combine to showcase their skills on a big stage. Though many future stars attend the combine, talented players are also overlooked every year.

Last year, Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay was not invited to the combine, perhaps because of his size (5-8, 190 pounds). Lindsay put up big numbers at his pro day, though, running a 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds.

Lindsay’s impressive pro day performance caught the attention of NFL teams, including the Denver Broncos. Lindsay went undrafted and signed with the Broncos as a college free agent and then went from being a bottom-of-the-roster player to a starter in 2018.

The 24-year-old running back shared a great message on Twitter to players that were not invited to this year’s combine.

Lindsay gained 1,278 yards from scrimmage and scored 10 touchdowns last season, becoming the first undrafted offensive rookie in NFL history to earn a Pro Bowl selection. He knows a thing or two about overcoming the odds.

So while fans watch the combine this week, it’s important to remember these aren’t the only prospects to consider in April.
