Phillip Lindsay says Broncos’ new offense ‘fits my style’

Broncos new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur seems to have been well-received by the team’s two Pro Bowl running backs.

Last month, Melvin Gordon said Denver’s offense appears to be a better fit for him than the Chargers’ offense was. Earlier this month, Phillip Lindsay also indicated that Shurmur’s offense is a better fit for him than Rich Scangarello’s offense was last season.

“I think it’s going to be aggressive,” Lindsay told The Athletic‘s Nicki Jhabvala. “I just think that it’s what fits my style, and I’ve been able to adapt to every style, but I think that this style right here is something that is going to fit me, kind of like how my rookie year was. I’m excited about that.”

As a rookie, Lindsay averaged 5.4 yards per carry and rushed for nine touchdowns. Last season, Lindsay’s average dropped to 4.5 yards per carry and he rushed for seven touchdowns. Playing in Shurmur’s offense, Lindsay’s numbers could show some improvement this season.
