Phillip and Holly's This Morning replacements confirmed as hosts take extended break

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby's replacements have been confirmed as the presenting duo take an extended break over the summer.

Over the past few weeks, the pair's future on the award-winning ITV show has been the subject of some speculation, firstly after the news that their long-serving boss Martin Frizell was set to retire from his editing duties and then, with the rumours that the BBC were ready to try and poach Phillip with a big money offer.

The BBC have since denied this and Phillip has also reassured his Twitter followers that there is no truth to the reports.

However, earlier this week Phillip and Holly did indeed confirm that they would be absent from the show for a while as they take their summer break.

The pair hosted a memorable final show on Friday, which included a 'car crash' interview with Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclstone, which left viewers fuming.

And after a last game of Spin to Win, Phillip revealed to viewers that Eamonn Holmes and wife Ruth Langsford would be on hosting duties from Monday with a few "special guest presenters too."

During Friday's how, Richard and Judy's return to This Morning was also confirmed, although they will be on to be interviewed, rather than host.

Some viewers are delighted that Eamonn and Ruth are taking over, with one tweeting: "Don't be blue, because from next week until the end of the summer, Eamonn and Ruth will be on Monday to Thursday!"

Another reacted: "About time we had Eamonn and Ruth get the gig. I much prefer their little bickering bouts than these two collapsing into ridiculous giggles," and a third posted: "Oh yea Team Ruth and Eamonn"
