PHILADELPHIA _ At the least, the last two days have had to change what had been a dour mood surrounding the Phillies, fueled by constant losing.
For the first time in more than a month, the Phillies can claim a winning streak _ two games _ after their 9-7 win over the San Francisco Giants on Sunday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies (19-35) hadn't won consecutive games since earning six straight wins, with the last one coming April 27.
Maikel Franco broke a 7-7 tie with a solo home run in the eighth inning off Derek Law, and one out later Freddy Galvis added his second round-tripper of the game for his first multi-homer game. He became the first Phillie to homer from both sides of the plate in a game since Jimmy Rollins on July 20, 2011, against Chicago.
Odubel Herrera had two doubles and a homer for his first three-hit game of the season.
Hector Neris pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
In winning two of three games against the Giants, the Phillies snapped a string of 10 straight series losses.
Eduardo Nunez, the second batter of the game, hit a 90-mph four-seam fastball from Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson for a home run to left field.
In the bottom of the first, Cesar Herandez led off with a walk and Herrera hit an RBI double to right-center, his third two-base hit in two days.
Howie Kendrick drilled an RBI double over center fielder Denard Span. Kendrick was called out attempting to steal third base.
In the second inning, Galvis blasted a 90-mph fastball for a two-run homer to left, making it 4-1.
In the third inning, after pitcher Matt Moore hit a one-out single, Span hit a grounder to first baseman Tommy Joseph, who looked for the force at second. In attempting to nail Moore, Joseph hit Moore, with his throw going off the pitcher and into the outfield. Moore reached third. Nunez earned a nine-pitch walk to load the bases.
Brandon Belt drew a walk to force in the second run, and Buster Posey's sacrifice fly made it 4-3.
Kendrick, who opened the third with a walk, eventually scored on a wild pitch, making it 5-3.
Herrera greeted reliever George Kontos with a homer to center field to begin the fifth inning.
Brandon Crawford's two-run homer off Hellickson in the sixth cut the Phillies' lead to 6-5.
Later in the inning, Hellickson was removed after serving a one-out double to Joe Panik that just missed being a homer, hitting the top of the right-field scoreboard.
The Phillies used three pitchers in the seventh inning, and none of them provided satisfactory results. The third, Luis Garcia, allowed a two-run single by Crawford that gave the Giants a 7-6 lead.
In the bottom of the inning Herrera tied the score with a one-out run- scoring double off Josh Osich.
