Phillies fans booed Bryce Harper after his second strikeout on Opening Day

The Bryce Harper era got off to such a positive start in Philadelphia.

The $330 million man made his Phillies debut Thursday against the Braves, and he got the full Philadelphia experience.

Harper wore some Phillie Phanatic-inspired green cleats, pumped up the fans in right field … and got booed after his second strikeout.

Yes, we’re Game 1 into Harper’s 2,106-game deal with the Phillies, and he’s already hearing the boos. It happened after Harper’s strikeout in the fifth inning with the Phillies up two runs.

Never change, Philadelphia.

While there was a hint of sarcasm in those boo-birds, I’m sure Harper expected to get through at least a couple games before the Phillies fans got restless.

Things turned around in the seventh inning when the Braves intentionally walked Harper to load the bases. Rhys Hoskins subsequently followed that up with a grand slam.

Yeah, that three-four combo will be scary for pitchers all year.
