Phillies fan makes excellent barehanded grab while holding a baby

Not every fan needs to bring their gloves to the game. In fact, some fans can just bring a baby instead.

During Wednesday’s game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field, Nick Ahmed fouled a fourth-inning breaking ball into the stands. And it was impossible to ignore the subsequent loud roar of applause coming from the crowd.

That was because some fan in a Phillies jersey made a barehanded catch while holding a baby with his right arm. As far as great fan catches go, the barehanded-catch-whilst-holding-a-baby is up there with the best of them.

The catch was excellent, and the baby was also unfazed by the whole sequence.

The Phillies broadcast ultimately caught up with the fan, and he described the catch as instinctual for him. He played high school and college baseball as an outfielder, so it was easy work. Baby and all.
