Broadcaster Nestor Libaton, a news reporter for a Catholic radio station in the Philippines, was murdered by motorcycle-riding gunmen.
Colleagues at Radio DXHM in Mati City in Davao Oriental province were shocked and baffled by the killing.
Libaton dealt with routine regional and local government affairs in his programmes, which were government-sponsored. His co-anchor, Eldon Cruz, was driving the motorcycle but escaped unharmed.
