SINGAPORE (Reuters) - - Feed mills in the Philippines bought 25,000 tonnes of feed wheat this week at $243 a tonne, including cost and freight (C&F), for April shipment, traders said.
- Wheat prices offered in Asia climbed this week, tracking sharp gains in Chicago futures <Wv1>, traders said.
- "Black Sea and U.S. wheat being offered in Asia have gone up. The maximum increase has been in U.S. prices," said one Singapore-based trader.
- Chicago wheat futures were on track for their biggest weekly gain since June 2015 as forecasts of more dry weather across the U.S. Plains supported prices.
- Black Sea milling wheat is offered at $233 a tonne, C&F, compared with $229 a week ago. U.S. winter wheat is quoted at $295 a tonne, C&F, white wheat at $249 and spring wheat at $320 - with prices of most varieties rising 8-10 percent from last week.
- "Buyers are not chasing this rally in U.S. wheat futures. Demand has dropped because of higher prices," a second Singapore-based trader said.
