Philippe Coutinho sparks excitement as he appears to drop huge Arsenal transfer hint

Philippe Coutinho has sparked excitement among Arsenal fans by apparently dropping a transfer hint on social media.

Gunners supporters have been keeping an eye on the Brazilian's social media in recent weeks, given he has been linked with a move to north London.

And it seems more than a few fans have picked up on the fact that Coutinho has recently started following the likes of Cedric Soares, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gabriel Martinelli.

Of course, in the grand scheme of things, Coutinho's Twitter activity means very little.

But that hasn't stopped Arsenal fans getting excited on social media, as speculation Coutinho could join the Gunners this summer continues to grow.

Arsenal are set to sign Willian at the end of the month once he is officially out of contract at Chelsea.

The 31-year-old, who has reportedly already completed a medical at Arsenal, will put pen to paper on a three-year deal worth £150,000-a-week.

The expenditure means it is very unlikely that Arsenal will move for Coutinho, especially given the fact they already turned him down once.

But Gunners supporters are remaining hopeful that the club find some extra cash from somewhere and bring the Brazilian back to the Premier League.

Coutinho is out of favour at Barcelona and in need of a new club.

According to recent reports from Spain, the midfielder no longer wants to represent the La Liga giants, and Barcelona want him off of their wage bill.

Arsenal would appear to be a good fit for Coutinho, but Mikel Arteta is under pressure to reduce his wage bill before signing big names.

Arsenal are prepared to let some big names leave this summer should an acceptable bid be made for their services.

These first team Arsenal players include Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
