Philippe Coutinho sends fitness message as Premier League sides eye up former Liverpool star

Rumours surrounding the future of former Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho continue to swirl.

The Reds are reportedly among a cluster of Premier League clubs who could make a move for the Brazilian this month.

Coutinho’s has struggled since leaving Liverpool to sign for Barcelona in a £142million deal four years ago.

Reports in ESPN claim that as many as five English top flight clubs, including Liverpool, are in talks to sign Coutinho on loan this month.

Everton and Aston Villa have been named as two of the linked clubs, but the others have not been identified at this stage.

The report goes on to say that it is still in the “early stages” of talks at the moment, with no club ruled out of the running.

Amid talk of Coutinho calling time on his spell at the Nou Camp, the Brazilian has posted an update on his Instagram page.

In a post on his story, the 29-year-old has posted a brief video of himself running on a treadmill.

Coutinho appears to be building up his fitness, as he recovers from a positive Covid-19 test which ruled him out of Barcelona’s last match.

The Spanish giants were in La Liga action on Sunday in their first match after the winter break, but Coutinho was absent due to the virus.
