Philippe Coutinho's agent responds to claims he's convincing star to join Arsenal

Philippe Coutinho's agent insists he has no preference for where his client goes, despite admitting he is himself an Arsenal fan.

Coutinho looks certain to be on the move again this summer after he returns to Spain from his loan spell in Germany with Bayern Munich.

The £142million flop is not in Barcelona manager Quique Setien's plans, but is not wanted by Bayern Munich, who have the option to sign him permanently.

Given the financial uncertainty created by the coronavirus pandemic, a transfer is perhaps unlikely when the summer window opens.

But Coutinho could leave the Nou Camp giants on loan for another season, and there are a host of clubs lining up to secure his temporary signature.

Among these are Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal.

The latter is the team supported by Coutinho's agent Kia Joorabchian, who also shares a strong friendship with Gunners director Edu.

There have been suggestions in the past that because Joorabchian is an Arsenal fan, he could influence Coutinho's decision to join the north London club.

But the agent has dismissed this notion, saying he has "no preference" where his client goes as long as it is right for him and both clubs involved.

"The fact I'm an Arsenal supporter is not a secret," Joorabchian told Sky Sports.

"I don't have any preference where the players go. I don't try to push someone to one club or another. Everything is a possibility.

"The question is what are going to be the financial conditions of all the clubs, including Barcelona and all the Premier League clubs at the end of this pandemic."
