Philippe Coutinho's agent issues transfer update amid Manchester United and PSG links

Philippe Coutinho's agent has revealed Barcelona do not want to sell the player, amid reports that he could leave this summer.

Manchester United had been linked with a shock transfer for the former Liverpool player, who has endured a difficult time since making the January 2018 switch to the Nou Camp — although MEN Sport understands he has not been on United's radar.

He's scored just 13 goals in 52 league appearances with the Catalans, prompting rumours that he could be headed for the exit door, as Barcelona are linked with stunning big-money moves for Antoine Griezmann and Neymar.

But his agent Kia Joorabchian has dismissed talk that the Brazilian will move on this summer in an interview with French media outlet RMC Sport .

He said: “I talked a few days ago with (general manager) Pep Segura at Barcelona.

“He told me that the club does not want to sell Coutinho this summer, no matter what.

And although he didn't mention United specifically, he added: “We have not had any contact with PSG.”

United's top attacking midfield target is Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes, while they are also interested in Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign two midfielders this summer, though speculation has linked star playmaker Paul Pogba with a high-profile switch to Real Madrid.

United do not want to sell Pogba, but even if he leaves it appears they won't be heading down the route of signing a former Liverpool star to replace him.
