Philippe Coutinho 'offered as transfer makeweight' as Barcelona open Neymar talks

Barcelona have reportedly made a sensational move to take Neymar back to the Nou Camp.

The Brazilian is considering his future at PSG just two years after his world-record arrival from Barcelona .

A return to Spain has been mooted for some time with Neymar and his father encouraging Barca and Real Madrid to make a move.

PSG have remained adamant the 27-year-old will not be sold but it appears their stance may be changing.

The Ligue 1 champions would consider letting Neymar go if they get the right money for him, reports the Daily Record.

And it is claimed Barcelona have opened discussions over a return to the Nou Camp.

Barca would reportedly be willing to offer either Philippe Coutinho or Ousmane Dembele to PSG as part of the transfer.

Coutinho has particularly struggled at the Nou Camp since his arrival from Liverpool in January 2018.

Should the Brazilian depart, a move to Paris appears the most feasible option with his family reluctant to return to England and the Premier League.

Barca may believe the arrival of his compatriot could bring the best out of Coutinho but he is already on borrowed time.

Dembele has also struggled for consistency at Barca due to a series of fitness problems.

The 22-year-old was seen as a replacement for Neymar when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

Meanwhile, Ernesto Valverde appears to have been given a stay of execution at the Nou Camp.

Reports this week suggested he would be sacked following the Copa del Rey final defeat to Valencia, with Roberto Martinez in line to replace him.

But it appears he will be given at least the start of next season after days of deliberation from the board.
