Philippe Coutinho makes transfer admission amid Manchester United speculation

Philippe Coutinho admits he has doubts over his long-term future at Barcelona amid speculation of a move back to the Premier League.

Former Liverpool midfielder Coutinho has been heavily linked with a return to English football this summer and was sensationally tipped for a move to Manchester United earlier in the year.

Reports back in January suggested Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could make a move for the Brazil international as he looks to reinforce his attacking options and add some world-class talent to his squad.

It seems highly unlikely United would make a move for the 27-year-old, however Coutinho has put a number of teams on alert by admitting he still doesn't know what he will be doing in the summer window.

“I don’t know if I will continue at Barcelona,” Coutinho said.

“Nobody knows about the future, and right now I am focused on playing with my (national) team (at the Copa America).”

Despite his recent comments it is not believed a move for Coutinho is something which United would choose to prioritise in the summer window. Although the club are always in the market for any world-class talent who becomes available, MEN Sport understand they are not actively prioritising superstar signings this summer.

Coutinho's own personal history of having played for Liverpool is also believed to potentially muddy the situation and it is hard to envisage a situation in which either party would contemplate such a deal.
