Philippe Coutinho is facing the increasing prospect of staying at Barcelona next season as Man Utd have failed to follow up their interest.
The Brazilian midfielder is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp, with the club keen to offload him following the arrival of Antoine Griezmann.
However despite Coutinho's availability, neither his club or his representatives have received formal offers, according to Mundo Deportivo .
Coutinho has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League with former club Liverpool as well as interest from United .
But with the Premier League transfer window due to shut on August 8, it now looks unlikely the 27-year-old will return to England this summer.
The £120 million-rated star is due to fly to the US as part of Barca's pre-season workout, meaning there is even less time for a deal to be completed.
That would leave French champions PSG as the only realistically viable option for Coutinho to move elsewhere before the window shuts.
PSG retain an interest in the player, with the French transfer window not due to shut until September 2.
Barca would be more interested in negotiations with PSG if they could be included in discussions for Neymar, who is desperate to leave the French club.
A potential swap deal could be on the cards, providing both clubs can come to an agreement, but PSG are likely to demand cash on top of the deal in order for them to let their star player go.
Neymar's PSG teammate Marco Verratti has urged the club's board to sell the player if he is unhappy at the Parc des Princes.
Verratti said: "When a player really wants to leave, the club must let him go, according to the conditions set by the club, of course.
"But you must not keep a player who wants to leave.
"Of course, I would be disappointed to see him go.
"I never heard him say that he wanted to leave, after I don't know what he told the club. But personally, of course, I prefer to see him stay."
