Philippe Coutinho could get Liverpool reunion as Barcelona brace for £125m transfer loss

Philippe Coutinho could reunite with his former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City this summer.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim Leicester are plotting a move for the Barcelona midfielder, who has struggled to perform in La Liga since his £142m move from Liverpool in 2018.

Coutinho has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs in recent months - including Everton - but Mundo suggest Rodgers could land the 29-year-old for as little as £17m.

A loan move to the King Power Stadium is also not ruled out.

Barcelona hope to 'recover part of the investment' they made in Coutinho but clearing his salary from the wage ball is an added incentive.

Coutinho is in Brazil recovering from an operation underwent in April to solve a meniscus problem.

He made just 12 La Liga appearances under Ronald Koeman last term.
