Philippe Coutinho brings in former Liverpool physio to help rediscover form

Philippe Coutinho has taken extra measures in his bid to rediscover the form that earned him hero status at Liverpool .

The Brazilian enjoyed a five-year spell at Anfield, playing a crucial role under Jurgen Klopp and his performances ultimately earned him a £148million move to Barcelona in January 2018.

However Coutinho failed to live up the expectations at the Nou Camp and was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Ernesto Valverde.

Indeed, the Brazilian sealed a season-long loan switch to Bayern Munich in the summer - the Germans will pay a £8m loan fee and cover his £250,000-a-week wages, while also having the option to make the deal permanent for £110m.

And, intent to get the best out of his loan spell in Germany, Coutinho has reportedly reunited with his former physio as he looks to remain fit over the course of the season.

Bild has claimed that Coutinho has called on the help of Ruben Pons, who worked at Liverpool before departing the club in 2018.

It is understood the physio worked alongside Mohamed Salah at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, helping the Egyptian star remain in top-top shape.

Meanwhile, Coutinho could still return to the Premier League - if Bayern Munich decide not to make his move permanent.

According to Spanish newspaper AS , Barcelona plan to offload the Brazilian playmaker permanently at the end of the season.

It is claimed that even if Coutinho doesn't make his Bayern spell a permanent one, Barca have no plans for Coutinho to play for them again - meaning a move back to England could be back on the cards at the end of the season.

He has got off to a mixed start in Germany, being a regular in their starting line-up but being criticised for a lack of impact on occasions.

He still needs to prove his worth to prompt the Bundesliga giants to part with a huge fee in order to keep him permanently.

If they are not tempted to keep him, then the door will be reopened for a Premier League switch with Barcelona adamant they will move on from the attacker amid rumours they are under pressure to balance the books.
